Wan 3.0 is hosted; Wan 2.2 remains the open-weight path

The official Wan GitHub organization and Wan-AI model collection publish Wan 2.2 code and checkpoints, but no official Wan 3.0 repository or checkpoint was found at verification time. A similarly named community upload is not proof of an official release.

Open-source and local-run status

This is a dated status check, not a claim that weights will never be released.

Official GitHub repositoryNot publishedThe Wan-Video organization lists Wan 2.2 and related releases, but no Wan 3.0 repo.

Open-weight alternativeWan 2.2Official code, checkpoints, Hugging Face, ModelScope, Diffusers, and ComfyUI paths exist.

Do not download unverified 'Wan 3.0' checkpoints

Confirm that a repository is linked by the official Wan organization or Wan-AI account, review its license and hashes, and avoid treating API wrappers or renamed Wan 2.x workflows as Wan 3.0 weights.

Choose the path that matches the job

Use the hosted Wan 3.0 API for its 30-second all-in-one workflow. Use Wan 2.2 when local inference, inspectable weights, ComfyUI workflows, or offline control is the priority.
